Biographical / Historical

KICY started with Art Zylstra in 1960. It started because the Covenant Denomination wanted to share the good news of Jesus with the Alaskan people and share the news also. It is also in a remote area that is called “the end of the earth” where no phone service is available. It was considered a godsend, providing information and news for 40,000 Alaskan listeners. (From the history of the KICY.)
