Biographical / Historical

The Great Lakes Conference (1886-1961) was formed in June 1886. It was called variously the Upper Michigan Conference, the Northwest Michigan Conference, and the Northern Michigan Conference until 1947 when the name changed to the Great Lakes Conference. It merged into the Central Conference in 1961.
