Biographical / Historical

Bethany Covenant Church was organized in February 1887. Ministries progressed quickly: in 1888 the Ladies Aid was formed, in 1890 a church building was built, in 1891 a choir was formed. Long serving pastors at this church: Rev. John Hendrickson (1888-1894; 1910-?), Rev. Gustaf Lundquist (1896-1900), Rev. Axel Rapp (1900-1911), Rev. K.A. Johnson (?-1920). Rev. Carl Brotten (1920-1923), Rev. G.A. Hult (1923-1925?), Rev. K.E. Pearson (1926-1935), Rev. A.G. Eklud (1936-1945), Rev. James E. Know (1957-1964), Rev. Ralph Dirksen (1964-1967), Rev. Albert Borns (1967-1969).
