Biographical / Historical
“The Covenant Companion, the young people's magazine, was started in December, 1923, under the editorship of G. F. Hedstrand. It contained 32 pages, half of which were devoted to general reading matter for young people, and half to material for Sunday school teachers. The page size was 8x12, and each issue had an attractively designed cover. The number of pages was soon increased, first to 48, then to 52, and finally to 64 pages. In October, 1928, it was changed to a bi-weekly of 32 pages with a cover, and in November, 1930, it was made into a weekly of sixteen pages. A new arrangement was made in January, 1934, by which Förbundets Veckotidning and The Covenant Companion were combined, yet each keeping its own identity—a two-in-one combination. Either part may, however, be subscribed for separately.” (p. 213 in Covenant Memories: Golden Jubilee, Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant, 1885-1935. Chicago: Covenant Book Concern, 1935.)
