This collection documents the years of existence of the IgniteKC.tv Church (Originally known as “Olathe Evangelical Covenant Church”) in Olathe, Kansas. The record of the IgniteKC.tv Church is documented across a variety of materials and records, such as: meeting notes and minutes from the years of 1977-2009; photographs and scrapbook albums; annual reports from 1978-2015; financial reports from 2010-2014; constitutional documents and revisions of said constitution throughout their years as a church (1977-2016); preserved correspondences from 2000-2016; the original signed charter from 1977; as well as having materials, such as pamphlets and bulletins, that document church happenings. The majority of the photographs found within box three of this collection are from the period of the 1980s-1990s, which also maintains newspaper articles and clippings that were relevant to the members of the church at that time.

Biographical / Historical

The Olathe Evangelical Covenant Church, as was its name at its founding, came under the umbrella of the Midwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (Evangelical Covenant Church hereby referred to as ECC) on December 4th, 1977 when thirty-six individuals signed the charter. From this beginning, the church lasted for thirty-nine years up until its closing in 2016. After thirty-six years in the ministry as Olathe ECC, in 2008 the Olathe ECC congregation voted to come a LifeChurch.tv campus. Following this 2008 vote, LifeChurch.tv informed the Olathe ECC in 2009 that it could not take on another campus. Subsequently, Olathe ECC became a LifeChurch.tv Network Church instead. 2009-2011 saw the rebranding of many church services (life groups, kids programs, etc.) to fit within the LifeChurch.tv network. This culminated in the 2011 decision to change the name of the church to IgniteKC.tv Church in attempt to better fit their "expansion vision" into the name.
