The Children’s Friend (Barens Van) Collection

The Children’s Friend is a publication of the Children’s Home in Cromwell, Connecticut. The content of The Children’s Friend consists of news about the Children’s Home and the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Churches. The publication also has devotionals and articles from various Covenant pastors of the East Coast Conference. This serial was published for 43 years by The Press of the Pond-Ekberg Co. in Springfield, Massachusetts from 1918 until 1961. The publication’s subscription was $1.00 per year, which contributed to the support of the Children’s Home. The last issue was published in November 1961 when the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Churches of America decided that they would publish one united publication for the Conference which would include news of the Children’s Home.
