Biographical / Historical

Walter William Johnson was born in Los Angeles California on January 10, 1901. He attended North Park College in 1927 and served a number of churches in the Evangelical Covenant Church including: Florence Wisconsin, Summer of 1928; Lakeview Covenant Church, Chicago, assistant Pastor in charge of the English language ministry 1928-1931; Berkeley, California 1931-1936; Everett, Washington 1936-1950; Malmo, Alberta Canada 1950-1953; Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada 1953-1955; Blue Island, Illinois 1955-1965; Indianapolis, Indiana, 1966-1968; Elim, St Paul, Minnesota 1968-1974; St Petersburg, Florida 1974-1975; Silverhill, Alabama 1975-1978; The Palms Retirement Community, Miami, Florida 1978-1982; Covenant Village of Plantation, Florida, 1982-2000. He died in 2002.

Arrangement

Archival staff processed the collection into three series based on content. Series one is diaries arranged in chronologial order. Series two is sermons arranged in loose alphabetical order following the order they were received. Series three is miscellaneous books and booklets.
