Biographical / Historical
Dorothy Vann, full name Dorothy Irene Jacobson Vann, was born on June 22, 1914 in Kansas and died on May 10, 2010. She lived and worked for many years in the North Park neighborhood of Chicago and was interested in oral histories and genealogy.

Arrangement
Collection is arranged into four topical series: geneaological material for the Jacobson Family, geneaological material for the Blom Family, general correspondence and personal papers, and research notes and photographs related to the North Park Neighborhood in Chicago. This arrangement follows the original organization of the material; later additions were added under those headings.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Boxes 1-4 do not have provenance information but were donated by Dorothy Vann sometime before 1999. Additional records were added in 1999 (box 5), 2002 (box 6), 2004 (boxes 7 and 8), and 2015 (box 9).
