General

Paper scrolls with woven border created by Unknown. Red paper scroll with black painted lettering and woven border; Note on back says: "Chinese Legend: This characteristic pair of scrolls are used commonly to decorate a brides room or a study. These Chinese characters on the first scroll say: "Human relation to be permanent has to be as plain and clear as water." The second one says "Friendship to endure should be as heavy as yellow gold." The style of these characters follow those of the Han Dynasty or older."
