General
Charcoal and whiting sketch on masonite created by Sallman, Warner. Christ stands behind a young girl and boy with their Bibles; Matt 28:19,20 is written under the title: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."; Also Matt 10:16 "Behold, I send you forth..." is seen. In the NIV translation the verse is written: ""I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."; Sallman is seen doing this sketch in the Chicago Tribune's Neighborhood section part 3 (June 6, 1954); See Master Painter: Warner E. Sallman by Jack R. Lundbom pgs 121, 246, 266, 303; Framed.
