The Gustaf Larson family, Paxton, IL, on back of portrait: "This picture once hung proudly in the 'parlor' of Mr. And Mrs. Gustaf Larson of Paxton, IL. The Larsons lived in Farmersvill, a Swedish farming community about seven miles southwest of Paxton. In the early 1890's the Larson's joined the Swedish Mission Church in Paxton, thus earning the disfavor of many of their Lutheran neighbors. The picture was a conspicuous symbol of their brave new affiliation. Philip I. Larson '01, Paul J Larson '33, Roy B. Larson '39.
