Biographical / Historical
The Bohus Society of Chicago, Illinois (Bohus Föreningen av Chicago, Illinois) was founded before 1922; the exact date is unknown. The purpose of the Society was to provide a common meeting place for the people of Bohus [province] now living in the greater Chicago area, and to help each other with mutual problems faced as immigrants. The Bohus Society participated in the Swedish Day Parade at the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair.
